I'm Shelby Shepherd, co-founder of Evergreen Planner.
For me, the promise that God has given me enough time for what matters and that I have been created in His Image to do the hard work of bringing order out of chaos in my circumstances has not just been an eloquent thought.
It has been a lifeline.

Still moving slowly from recently giving birth, I had just sat down with a four day old baby asleep on my shoulder, and cracked open my laptop. Taking a deep breath, I opened up my most urgent contracted project and dove in.
Within days, I would be back to working 60+ hours per week for the family business—but this time with a newborn to care for, too.
I loved the work my husband and I were doing together, but I was buckling under growing concerns about our future. We wanted more children and were set on home educating them. We wanted a rich home culture filled with nourishing meals, hospitality, and slow moments like reading aloud beside the fire. We also dreamed of showing our kids the world some day.
I wondered how I could continue bringing in an income (at the time, our little family depended on it), while still pursuing excellence in motherhood and homemaking—things I already knew would be a full-time job, themselves.
I was desperate for anything that would help me build a bridge from the growing chaos I had been managing to the beautiful life that my husband and I were longing to cultivate for our children.
The Evergreen Planning Method became that bridge.
My original EPM worksheets, which gave me my first taste of successfully bringing order out of chaos in my days—starting with essentializing and organizing my nine page long todo list. The method would take about five more years of meticulous development, field-testing, and trial with 1:1 clients to become what it is today.
Our CEO McCauley (my sister and co-founder) digging into the project with determination. She worked hard to refine my original worksheets into our streamlined (yet mind-blowingly robust) planner system. The physical system was rigorously field-tested and improved. She designed a stunning leather Cover to hold it all together.
Seven years later...
Thanks to the Evergreen Planning Method (and the gorgeous planner system McCauley designed to make it tangible), my husband and I are living the life we envisioned.

We have worked hard to make the Collective a welcoming and non-judgmental place for our students to thrive. While the vast majority of our students are Christians and post from that perspective, we have strict community guidelines about respecting other students and that prevent delving into off-topic debates.
That being said, there are a couple of things you might want to be aware of before diving in:

All of our content is written with the assumption that the student is a Christian. It is extremely practical and would be useful to anyone who read it, but it does strongly come from that perspective.

Our community guidelines require students to be respectful of others' lifestyle choices and priorities, but they also disallow students to post anything that sounds like it's promoting or sanctioning something that goes against the commands of Jesus. This means that posts that are welcoming to LGBT ideas, abortion, chauvinism, or anything else that is in violation of the Word of God will be immediately deleted. If a member persists in this manner, their privileges to post in all community spaces or DM other members will be immediately revoked.

Discussions or debates about irrelevant politically-charged subjects (such as vaccinations) have plenty of places to live on the internet, and are completely disallowed in this community so that everyone can focus on the work we're all really here to do! The full set of rules and guidelines are made available inside of the community so there's never any confusion about what's okay to discuss. Our students have always found these gentle guidelines to be reasonable, the environment cheerful, and our admins very relaxed (in the best of ways)!
These guidelines have served to make the Collective an extremely pleasant and life-giving place for women of different walks of life (but who all care about intentional living) to connect and encourage one another.

If your wife has purchased Renew, you are totally welcome to go through it with her without purchasing your own seat. A lot of couples have even gone through the exercises together (including within Team Evergreen!) and have experienced it to be very fruitful.
If you're not the husband of a student and you're interested in this for yourself, you are welcome to purchase and take the Course! (Heads up, though: the content in Renew is written in a way that assumes the student is a woman, and uses exclusively feminine pronouns, anecdotes, and aesthetics. Even so, the exercises themselves thoroughly practical and applicable to both men and women.)
At this point, the Collective is also designed for women and foster conversations that are usually most relevant to the concerns of women, but you do not have to participate in the "girl-talk" to benefit from the Renew Course!

The physical Evergreen Planner System also has a few feminine flourishes in its design, but we often see husbands purchasing their own planners and enjoying the system. We've been asked if we plan to create a dedicated "men's planner" and while that is on our radar, it is not slated to happen this year. When we do decide to undertake that project, we'll be doing extensive research with men who are willing to field-test and help tweak the system so that it works best for their preferences, way of thinking, and priorities.

If you're subscribed to the Day Planner, it's easy to pause or cancel your subscription within your account on our shop website. If we haven't yet shipped out the booklets but your subscription hit and you want to cancel it, reach out and we will cancel the order and refund your payment.
